Scope note: Programa organizado e integral de cuidados de salud que identifica y reduce los riesgos reproductivos de una mujer antes de la concepción por medio de la evaluación de riesgos, promoción de salud e intervenciones. Los programas de atención preconceptiva pueden estar diseñados para incluir también a la pareja masculina con el fin de brindar consejos e información educativa como preparación para la paternidad, consejos genéticos y las correspondientes pruebas, planificación financiera y familiar, etc. Este concepto es diferente al de ASISTENCIA PRENATAL, que ocurre durante el embarazo.
