Scope note: Parásito de mamíferos carnívoros que produce la TRIQUINOSIS. Es muy común en ratas y cerdos alimentados con desperdicios que no han sido cocinados. En los seres humanos, la infección se inicia por el consumo de carne de cerdo cruda o insuficientemente cocida o de otras carnes que contienen larvas enquistadas.
