Scope note: Detención localizada del desarrollo dental que parece afectar con más frecuencia a los dientes anteriores, usualmente a un lado de la línea media, con más frecuencia a los incisivos maxilares centrales y laterales. En las radiografías, los dientes tienen una apariencia "fantasma". Pueden encontrarse calcificación y fragmentos de esmalte en la pulpa y el esmalte es delgado y está parcialmente ausente. Scope note: A localized arrested tooth development which appears to involve most commonly the anterior teeth, usually on one side of the midline, most often the maxillary central and lateral incisors. Roentgenographically, the teeth have a ghostlike appearance. Calcification and bits of prismatic enamel may be found in the pulp and the enamel is thin and absent in part. (Jablonski, Illustrated Dictionary of Dentistry, 1982)
