Scope note: Medida de la actividad para evaluar la capacidad de una persona de realizar actividades comunes, evaluando el progreso del paciente tras un procedimiento terapéutico, determinando la idoneidad del paciente para el tratamiento. Se emplea con frecuencia en el pronóstico del tratamiento del cáncer, generalmente después de la quimioterapia y por lo general administrada antes y después del tratamiento. Su nombre alude al Dr. David A. Karnofsky, especialista estadounidense en la quimioterapia del cáncer.
