Scope note: Hemangioma rojo oscuro, firme, en forma de cúpula, perfectamente delimitado de la piel circundante, generalmente localizado en la cabeza y cuello; crece rápidamente y por lo general regresa y involuciona sin cicatriz. Es causado por proliferación de vasos capilares inmaduros en un estroma activo, y suele presentarse en el nacimiento o en los dos o tres primeros meses de vida. (Dorland, 27th ed)
