Scope note: Bloqueo de un vaso sanguíneo por restos de depósitos ateromatosos ricos en COLESTEROL que suelen ubicarse en los puntos de paso de una arteria grande a ramas arteriales pequeñas. También se denomina embolización arterial-arterial o ateroembolismo, pudiendo ser espontáneo o yatrogénico. Los pacientes con ateroembolismo espontáneo suelen aquejar dolor y cianosis en los dedos, de aparición brusca.
