Scope note: Proteína cargada positivamente que se encuentra en la MIELINA del sistema nervioso periférico. Técnicas inmunológicas sensibles han demostrado que la proteína P2 se expresa en pequeñas cantidades en las vainas de mielina del sistema nervioso central de algunas especies. Es un antígeno de la neuritis alérgica experimental (NEURITIS ALÉRGICA EXPERIMENTAL), la contrapartida en el sistema nervioso periférico de la encefalomielitis alérgica experimental.
