Scope note: Género de bacterias gramnegativas aerobias de forma bacilar. Los organismos de este género habían sido clasificados originalmente como miembros del género PSEUDOMONAS pero los hallazgos bioquímicos y químicos abrumadores indicaban la necesidad de separarlas de las otras especies de Pseudomonas y, por ello, se creó este nuevo género.
