Scope note: Cavidad existente en cada uno de los HEMISFERIOS CEREBRALES, que deriva de la cavidad del TUBO NEURAL embrionario. Están separados entre sí por el SEPTUM PELLUCIDUM y cada uno de ellos se comunica con el TERCER VENTRÍCULO a través del agujero de Monro, a cuyo través también los plexos coroideos (PLEXOS COROIDEOS) de los ventrículos laterales se continúan con el plexo del tercer ventrículo.
