Scope note: Lesiones cerebrales consecuencia de sacudidas enérgicas en un lactante o niño de corta edad sostenido por el tórax, los hombros o las extremidades que causan una extrema aceleración craneal. Se caracteriza por hemorragias intracraneales e intraoculares sin traumatismo externo manifiesto. Los casos graves pueden causar la muerte del niño.
