Scope note: Los Programas Gente Sana constituyen un conjunto de objetivos de salud para su utilización por parte de gobiernos, comunidades, organizaciones profesionales y otros, dirigidos al desarrollo de programas para la mejorar de la salud. Se han elaborado a partir de iniciativas desarrolladas durante las dos últimas décadas, a partir del Informe General de Médicos de 1979, Gente Sana, Gente Sana 2000, Promoción Nacional de la Salud, Objetivos de Prevención de Enfermedades y Gente Sana 2010. Esos objetivos nacionales de salud han servido como base para el desarrollo de planes estatales y comunitarios. Están gestionados por la Oficina de Prevención de Enfermedades y Promoción de la Salud (ODPHP). Otros gobiernos nacionales desarrollan programas similares.

Scope note: Healthy People Programs are a set of health objectives to be used by governments, communities, professional organizations, and others to help develop programs to improve health. It builds on initiatives pursued over the past two decades beginning with the 1979 Surgeon General's Report, Healthy People, Healthy People 2000: National Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Objectives, and Healthy People 2010. These established national health objectives and served as the basis for the development of state and community plans. These are administered by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP). Similar programs are conducted by other national governments.
