Scope note: Afección caracterizada por la presencia de tejido tiroideo rudimentario en la base de la LENGUA. Se debe a una alteración del desarrollo y migración embrionarios del tejido tiroideo a su posición normal. En general, el tiroides lingual no puede mantener una adecuada producción hormonal, por lo que se produce HIPOTIROIDISMO.Afección caracterizada por la presencia, en la base de la lengua, de tejido rudimentario de la GLÁNDULA TIROIDES. Se debe a una alteración del desarrollo y migración embrionarios del tejido tiroideo a su posición normal. En general, el tiroides lingual no puede mantener una producción adecuada de hormona, determinando un HIPOTIROIDISMO.
