Se caracteriza por la presencia de concentraciones elevadas de AUTOANTICUERPOS contra la PEROXIDASA TIROIDEA y la TIROGLOBULINA. Los signos clínicos incluyen el patrón trifásico de la hormona tiroidea: comienza con TIROTOXICOSIS, seguido de HIPOTIROIDISMO y retorno al estado eutiroideo a lo largo del año posterior al parto.

Clinical signs include the triphasic thyroid hormone pattern: beginning with THYROTOXICOSIS, followed with HYPOTHYROIDISM, then return to euthyroid state by 1 year postpartum.
