Scope note: Afección, congénita o adquirida, en la que el BAZO no se encuentra en su posición anatómica normal sino que se situa en otros sitios del ABDOMEN. Ello se debe a la laxitud o ausencia de los ligamentos suspensorios que en situación normal lo fijan al peritoneo para mantener al BAZO en una posición fija. Los síntomas clínicos incluyen DOLOR ABDOMINAL, torsión esplénica e ISQUEMIA.

Scope note: A congenital or acquired condition in which the SPLEEN is not in its normal anatomical position but moves about in the ABDOMEN. This is due to laxity or absence of suspensory ligaments which normally provide peritoneal attachments to keep the SPLEEN in a fixed position. Clinical symptoms include ABDOMINAL PAIN, splenic torsion and ISCHEMIA.
