Scope note: Exploración física mediante la cual un sanitario cualificado introduce en el RECTO un dedo provisto de dedil lubricado, al tiempo que con la otra mano presiona la parte inferior del ABDOMEN o área pélvica, con el fin de palpar posibles anomalías en la zona baja del recto o en los órganos y órganos vecinos. Este método se suele utilizar para la exploración de la zona distal del recto, la PRÓSATA en el varón, y el ÚTERO y los OVARIOS en la mujer.
