Scope note: Proteínas de membrana en los precursores de los LINFOCITOS-B (células pre-B). Están compuestas por CADENAS PESADAS DE INMUNOGLOBULINAS MU unidas a la membrana, junto con CADENAS LIGERAS SUBROGADAS en lugar de las CADENAS LIGERAS DE INMUNOGLOBULINAS convencionales. Solamente la recolocación con éxito de segmentos VDJ, en el locus del gen de cadena pesada de Ig (GENES DE CADENA PESADA DE INMUNOGLOBULINA), generará cadenas pesadas mu que puedan emparejarse con las cadenas ligeras subrogadas. Por todo esto, la formación de los receptores de células pre-B constituye un importante control en el desarrollo de células B maduras.

Scope note: Membrane proteins in precursor B-LYMPHOCYTES (pre-B Cells). They are composed of membrane-bound MU IMMUNOGLOBULIN HEAVY CHAINS in complex with SURROGATE LIGHT CHAINS instead of conventional IMMUNOGLOBULIN LIGHT CHAINS. Only successful rearrangement of the VDJ segments, at the Ig heavy chain gene locus (IMMUNOGLOBULIN HEAVY CHAIN GENES), will generate mu heavy chains that can pair with surrogate light chains. Thus formation of the pre-B cell receptors is an important checkpoint in the development of mature B cells.
