La excesiva calcificación de los vasos se asocia a la formación de PLACAS ATEROSCLERÓTICAS especialmente después de un INFARTO DEL MIOCARDIO (véase ESCLEROSIS CALCIFICANTE DE LA MEDIA DE MONCKEBERG) y enfermedades renales crónicas, que a su vez incrementan alternadamente la RIGIDEZ VASCULAR.
