Scope note: El Mercado Común del Sur (Mercosur) es un gran proyecto de integración diseñado por Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay y Uruguay. Involucra los ámbitos económico, político y social, lo que se puede inferir de la diversidad de los organismos que lo componen, que se encargan de temas que van desde, por ejemplo, la agricultura familiar al cine. En economía, el Mercosur asume en la actualidad la unión aduanera, pero su objetivo final es llegar a ser un mercado común, siguiendo los objetivos fijados por el Tratado de Asunción, a través del cual se fundó el bloque, en 1991.
