Scope note: Agrupaciones de neuronas y sus prolongaciones del sistema nervioso autónomo. En el ganglio autónomo, las fibras preganglionares procedentes del sistema nervioso central realizan la sinapsis con las neuronas cuyos axones son las fibras postganglionares que inervan los órganos diana. Los ganglios también contienen neuronas intrínsecas, células de soporte y fibras preganglionares que pasan a través de ellos hacia otros ganglios.
