Scope note: Aminoalcohol que ha sido utilizado como estimulante del miocardio y vasodilatador y para aliviar el broncoespasmo. Su uso terapéutico más frecuente es en la hipotensión ortostática. El mecanismo de las acciones terapéuticas del heptaminol no se conoce bien pero se ha sugerido que afecta la liberación de catecolamisnas o al metabolismo del calcio.

Scope note: An amino alcohol that has been used as a myocardial stimulant and vasodilator and to relieve bronchospasm. Its most common therapeutic use is in orthostatic hypotension. The mechanism of heptaminol's therapeutic actions is not well understood although it has been suggested to affect catecholamine release or calcium metabolism.
