Scope note: Procedimiento quirúrgico destinado a extirpar toda una lámina vertebral seleccionada (laminectomía) o parte de ella (laminotomía) para reducir la presión de la MÉDULA ESPINAL, de las RAÍCES NERVIOSAS ESPINALES o de ambas. La lámina vertebral es la fina pared posterior aplanada del arco vertebral que forma el foramen vertebral a través del cual pasan la médula espinal y las raíces nerviosas.
