Scope note: Bacteria que produce tuberculosis en aves domésticas y en otras aves. En cerdos, puede producir enfermedades localizadas y en ocasiones diseminadas. El organismo ocasionalmente se aísla en carneros y ganado vacuno. Debe distinguirse del complejo M. avium, que infecta principalmente a humanos.
