Las manifestaciones varían desde las formas subclínicas a la MUERTE SÚBITA. La miocarditis asociada con disfunción cardíaca se clasifica como MIOCARDIOPATÍA inflamatoria, por lo general causada por INFECCIÓN, enfermedades autoinmunes o respuestas a sustancias tóxicas. La miocarditis es también una causa frecuente de MIOCARDIOPATÍA DILATADA y de otras miocardiopatías.

Manifestations range from subclinical to sudden death (DEATH, SUDDEN). Myocarditis in association with cardiac dysfunction is classified as inflammatory CARDIOMYOPATHY usually caused by INFECTION, autoimmune diseases, or responses to toxic substances. Myocarditis is also a common cause of DILATED CARDIOMYOPATHY and other cardiomyopathies.
