Scope note: Compartimentos, rodeados de una membrana, que contienen moléculas neurotransmisoras. Las vesículas sinápticas están concentradas en los terminales presinápticos y secuestran activamente moléculas de neurotransmisores del citoplasma. En algunas sinapsis, la liberación del neurotransmisor se produce por la fusión de las vesículas con la membrana presináptica, seguida de la exocitosis de su contenido.
