Scope note: Toxina de Corynebacterium diphtheriae inactivada mediante formaldehído. Generalmente se usa mezclada con el TOXOIDE TETÁNICO y con la VACUNA CONTRA LA TOS FERINA (DTP) o solo con el toxoide tetánico (DT para uso pediátrico y Td, que contiene una cantidad 5-10 veces menor de toxoide diftérico, para otros usos). El toxoide diftérico se utiliza en la prevención de la difteria y la ANTITOXINA DIFTÉRICA se emplea en el tratamiento.
