Scope note: Filariasis de los ojos que se transmite de persona a persona a través de la picadura de moscas negras infectadas por Onchocerca volvulus. Las microfilarias de Onchocerca se depositan debajo de la piel. Luego migran a través de diversos tejidos, incluido el ojo. Las personas infectadas sufren trastornos visuales y hasta el 20 por ciento padecen ceguera. They migrate through various tissues including the eye. Those persons infected have impaired vision and up to 20% are blind.
