Scope note: Cavidad dilatada que se extiende en sentido caudal desde el intestino posterior. En los pájaros, reptiles, anfibios y muchos peces, adultos, la cloaca es una cámara común donde desembocan el tubo digestivo, el aparato urinario y el aparato reproductor. En la mayoría de los mamíferos la cloaca da lugar al INTESTINO GRUESO, la VEJIGA URINARIA y los GENITALES.
