Scope note: Cepa exogámica de ratas desarrollada en 1915 por cruzamiento de diversas hembras blancas del Instituto Wistar con un macho gris salvaje. De esta cepa exogámica original se derivaron cepas endogámicas, como las RATAS CONSANGUÍNEAS LEC (Long-Evans Cinnamon) y las RATAS CONSANGUÍNEAS OLETF (Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty), que sirven respectivamente como modelos para la enfermedad de Wilson y para la diabetes mellitus no insulinodependiente.
