Es común la ocurrencia familiar y se ha asociado con un número de genes localizados en 7q, 7p y 3q. Las características clínicas incluyen CONVULSIONES, CEFALEA, ACCIDENTE CEREBROVASCULAR y déficit neurológico progresivo.
