Scope note: Subclase de miosinas que suelen encontrarse asociadas a estructuras de membrana ricas en actina, como los filopodios. Los miembros de la familia de la miosina de tipo I se expresan ubicuamente en los eucariotas. Las cadenas pesadas de la miosina de tipo I carecen de secuencias formadoras de estructuras helico-helicoidales en sus colas, y por tanto no forman dímeros.
