Scope note: FOSFOLIPASA A2 asociada a lipoproteínas que regula la acción del FACTOR ACTIVADOR DE PLAQUETAS hidrolizando el enlace estérico SN-2 para dar lugar al liso-PAF (factor activador de plaquetas), biológicamente inactivo. Tiene especificidad por los sustratos fosfolipídicos con residuos de cadena corta en la posición SN-2, pero es inactivo frente a los fosfolípidos de cadena larga. La deficiencia de esta enzima se asocia a muchas enfermedades, como el ASMA y la HIPERCOLESTEROLEMIA.
