Scope note: Subtipo de TGF-beta que desempeña un papel en la regulación de la interacción entre el epitelio y el mesénquima durante el desarrollo embrionario. Se sintetiza como molécula precursora que es desdoblada para formar TGF-beta 3 maduro y péptido asociado a latencia TGF-beta 3. La asociación de los productos de desdoblamiento da lugar a la formación de una proteína latente que ha de ser activada para unirse al receptor.
