Scope note: Líquido con elevado contenido en azúcar producido en glándulas vegetales denominadas nectarias. Se produce en flores u otras estructuras vegetales (nectarias extraflorales) y proporciona una fuente de atracción a los insectos y otros animales polinizadores, así como una fuente de nutrientes a animales mutualistas que proporcionan protección a las plantas frente a los herbívoros.
