Descriptor English: Stratospheric Ozone
Descriptor Spanish: Ozono Estratosférico
Descriptor ozono estratosférico
Entry term(s) capa de ozono
ozonosfera
Entry term(s): Ozone Layer
Ozone, Stratospheric
Tree number(s): D01.362.670.600.500
G16.500.275.063.700
N06.230.300.100.700
RDF Unique Identifier: https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D062952
Scope note: Ozone in the Earth's stratosphere. It is produced continuously by the action of solar ULTRAVIOLET RAYS on oxygen in the stratosphere. The stratospheric ozone (especially at the ozone layer) blocks much of the solar UV radiation of wavelengths of 320 nanometers or less from being transmitted to lower ATMOSPHERE of the Earth.
Allowable Qualifiers: AN analysis
CH chemistry
Previous Indexing: Ozone (1975-2012)
Public MeSH Note: 2013
