Scope note:	Ozono en la estratosfera de la Tierra. Se produce de modo continuo por acción de los RAYOS ULTRAVIOLETA solares sobre el oxígeno de la estratosfera. El ozono estratosférico (especialmente en la capa de ozono) impide que gran parte de la radiación UV solar con longitudes de onda de 320 nanómetros o menos se transmita hacia abajo a la ATMÓSFERA de la Tierra.

Scope note:

Ozone in the Earth's stratosphere. It is produced continuously by the action of solar ULTRAVIOLET RAYS on oxygen in the stratosphere. The stratospheric ozone (especially at the ozone layer) blocks much of the solar UV radiation of wavelengths of 320 nanometers or less from being transmitted to lower ATMOSPHERE of the Earth.
