Scope note: Uno de los tres miembros de la familia de genes de los CANALES DE POTASIO éter-a-go-go (EAG) que consta de las subfamilias de genes éter-a-go-go (eag), parecidos a eag (eag-like, elk) y relacionados con eag (eag-related, erg). El gen relacionado con éter-a-go-go 1 (ERG1), también conocido como KCNH2, codifica la subunidad formadora de poro de un canal de potasio rectificador retardado de rápida activación que desempeña un papel esencial en la repolarización final del potencial de acción ventricular. Las mutaciones con pérdida de función en el gen hERG1 humano se asocian a ARRITMIA potencialmente mortal.

Scope note: One of three members of the ether-a-go-go (EAG) POTASSIUM CHANNELS gene family comprising ether-a-go-go (eag), eag-like (elk) and eag-related (erg) subfamilies. Ether-a-go-go-related gene 1 (ERG1) also known as KCNH2, encodes the pore-forming subunit of a rapidly activating-delayed rectifier potassium channel that plays an essential role in the final repolarization of ventricular action potential. Loss-of-function mutations in human hERG1 is associated with life-threatening ARRHYTHMIA.
