Scope note: Antitransportador de sodio-hidrógeno que se expresa en muchos tipos celulares, especialmente en las superficies basolaterales de las CÉLULAS EPITELIALES. Actúa mediante un gradiente químico de iones sodio hacia el interior que elimina los ácidos (protones) generados por el metabolismo y regula el pH intracelular. Es muy sensible a AMILORIDA.
