Scope note: Neoplasia maligna que se origina en células del EPITELIO superficial del ovario y que es la forma más frecuente de cáncer de ovario. Existen cinco subtipos histológicos: papilar seroso, endometrioide, mucinoso, de células claras y de células de transición. Este cáncer se asocia a mutaciones de los genes BRCA1, OPCML, PRKN, PIK3CA, AKT1, CTNNB1, RRAS2 y CDH1.
