Scope note: Efecto de la exposición excesiva al calor, que se produce generalmente entre trabajadores en salas de hornos, fundiciones etc., aunque puede presentarse por exposición al calor solar, o insolación. Se caracteriza por temperatura subnormal con vahídos, cefalalgia, náuseas y a veces delirio, colapso o ambos. Se diferencia del GOLPE DE CALOR, en que en este último la temperatura corporal puede estar aumentada peligrosamente. (Dorland, 28a ed)
