Scope note: Afección en la que el flujo venoso hepático está obstruido en cualquier localización de las pequeñas VENAS HEPÁTICAS hasta la unión de la VENA CAVA INFERIOR y la AURÍCULA DERECHA. Por lo general el bloqueo es extrahepático y está causado por coágulos sanguíneos (TROMBO) o mallas fibrosas. Es infrecuente la FIBROSIS parenquimatosa.

Scope note: A condition in which the hepatic venous outflow is obstructed anywhere from the small HEPATIC VEINS to the junction of the INFERIOR VENA CAVA and the RIGHT ATRIUM. Usually the blockage is extrahepatic and caused by blood clots (THROMBUS) or fibrous webs. Parenchymal FIBROSIS is uncommon.
