Scope note: Afección causada por uno o más episodios de TROMBOSIS VENOSA PROFUNDA, generalmente en las piernas. Las características clínicas comprenden EDEMA, DOLOR fijo y continuo y CALAMBRES MUSCULARES en las piernas. Cuando la hinchazón de las piernas es grave se sigue de ulceración de la piel, lo que se denomina la ÚLCERA DE ESTASIS.

Scope note: A condition caused by one or more episodes of DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS, usually the blood clots are lodged in the legs. Clinical features include EDEMA; PAIN; aching; heaviness; and MUSCLE CRAMP in the leg. When severe leg swelling leads to skin breakdown, it is called venous STASIS ULCER.
