Scope note: Cicatriz marcadamente elevada, de forma irregular, de crecimiento progresivo, resultante de la formación de cantidades excesivas de colágeno en la dermis durante la reparación del tejido conectivo. Se diferencia de una cicatriz hipertrófica (CICATRIZ HIPERTRÓFICA) en que la primera no se extiende a los tejidos circundantes.
