Scope note: Síndrome caracterizado por cefalea, rigidez de nuca, fiebre baja y pleocitosis linfocítica del LCR en ausencia de un microorganismo bacteriano patógeno que produzca un cuadro agudo. La meningitis vírica es la causa más frecuente, aunque las INFECCIONES POR MICOPLASMA, las INFECCIONES POR RICKETTSIA, los procedimientos diagnósticos o terapéuticos, los PROCESOS NEOPLÁSICOS, los focos sépticos perimeníngeos y otras afecciones pueden producir este síndrome. Viral meningitis is the most frequent cause although MYCOPLASMA INFECTIONS; RICKETTSIA INFECTIONS; diagnostic or therapeutic procedures; NEOPLASTIC PROCESSES; septic perimeningeal foci; and other conditions may result in this syndrome.
