Scope note: Tumor maligno derivado del tejido mesotelial (peritoneo, pleura, pericardio). Se presenta como amplias láminas de células, con algunas zonas que contienen células fusiformes similares a las del sarcoma y otras que muestran una disposición adenomatosa. Los mesoteliomas pleurales se han relacionado a la exposición excesiva al amianto. (Dorland, 27th ed)
