World Food Safety Day


Focusing on human health and sustainable development, and aiming to inspire actions to prevent foodborne risks, June 7 is World Food Safety Day.

Food and nutrition security is the fulfillment of the fundamental right of all individuals to regular access to adequate, high-quality food, in sufficient quantity, without compromising access to other essential needs. It is grounded in dietary practices that promote health, respect cultural diversity, and are socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable.

The WHO 2025 World Food Safety Day campaign emphasizes that science provides the fundamental basis for food safety and that there is no science without data. Here are some of the descriptors related to food safety in DeCS:
