Scope note: Lipoproteína que se asemeja a las LIPOPROTEÍNAS DE BAJA DENSIDAD pero con una porción proteica extra, APOPROTEÍNA (A) conocida también como APOLIPOPROTEÍNA (A), unida a la APOLIPOPROTEÍNA B-100 en los LDL por uno o dos puentes disulfuro. Una elevada concentración plasmática de lipoproteína (a) se asocia con un mayor riesgo de enfermedad cardiovascular aterosclerótica.
