Scope note: Trabajos que constan de estudios que emplean un método cuantitativo para combinar los resultados de estudios independientes (por lo general extraídos de la literatura publicada) y resúmenes y conclusiones de síntesis que pueden utilizarse para evaluar la efectividad terapéutica, planificar nuevos estudios, etc. Con frecuencia se trata de una vista panorámica de ensayos clínicos. Por lo general, el autor o la compañía patrocinadora lo denomina metaanálisis y debe diferenciarse de las revisiones de la literatura.
