Scope note:	Codón específico de un aminoácido que se ha convertido en un CODÓN DE TERMINACIÓN a través de una mutación. Su aparición es anormal y causa la terminación prematura de la traducción proteica y la consiguiente producción de proteínas truncadas y afuncionales. Una mutación sin sentido es aquella que convierte un codón específico de un aminoácido en un codón de terminación.
