Descriptor English: gamma-Tocopherol
Descriptor Spanish: gamma-Tocoferol
Descriptor gamma-tocoferol
Descriptor Portuguese: gama-Tocoferol
Descriptor French: gamma-Tocophérol
Entry term(s): 3,4-Dihydro-2,7,8-trimethyl-2-(4,8,12-trimethyltridecyl)-2H-1-benzopyran-6-ol
Tree number(s): D03.383.663.283.909.750.500
D03.633.100.150.909.750.500
RDF Unique Identifier: https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D024504
Scope note: A natural tocopherol with less antioxidant activity than ALPHA-TOCOPHEROL. It exhibits antioxidant activity by virtue of the phenolic hydrogen on the 2H-1-benzopyran-6-ol nucleus. As in BETA-TOCOPHEROL, it also has three methyl groups on the 6-chromanol nucleus but at different sites.
