Scope note: Lectinas de tipo C cuyo objetivo son las estructuras de carbohidratos que se encuentran en patógenos invasores. La unión de las colectinas a microorganismos da lugar a su aglutinación y aumento del aclaramiento. Las colectinas forman trímeros que pueden agruparse para formar grandes oligómeros. Cada cadena polipeptídica de colectina contiene cuatro regiones: una relativamente corta región N-terminal, una región similar a colágeno, una región alfa-hélice coiled-coil y una región de unión a carbohidrato.
